The Kirkhof College of Nursing Alumni Association is hosting a CEU on Pain Management at the Mercy Saint Mary's Campus, presented by Ruth Ann Brintnall, '85 and Associate Professor of Nursing at GVSU. The presentation titled "The Dilemma of Neuropathic Pain in Adults" will be 50 minutes in length. 

The event will take place on March 19, 2014 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. inside at the Mercy Health Saint Mary's Campus, Lacks Grand Conference Room Lower Level (located in the Lacks Cancer Center 250 Cherry Street SE). Refreshments will be provided. Basic objectives of the presentation will be:

1. Describe the burden of neuropathic pain in adult populations;

2. Contrast the characteristics of neuropathic pain when compared to other common forms of pain;

3. Refine assessment and early detection strategies for adults with neuropathic pain; and

4. List evidence-based pain management measures to manage neuropathic pain, including common pharmacologic therapies.
