Roger Schwer, '80

Retired President & General Manager of Cannon Muskegon Corporation and cancer survivor Roger Schwer, ’80 now spends his days as a full-time alpine ski instructor. Prior to his retirement in 1991, Schwer was active with the Seidman School Advisory Board and an adjunct professor at the Seidman School of Business.

Despite moving to Montana, Schwer maintained connections to the Muskegon Museum of Art and kept his cottage in Petoskey so he can visit family in the area. In addition to his work in Muskegon, he has also been active with the Arts Council of Big Sky as a sponsor for the Winter Classical Music Series in the memory of his late wife, Peggy.

Schwer remarried in 2007. He and wife Marjie Toepffer enjoy hiking, golfing, biking, and camping in Montana but come back to Michigan every July to visit.
