The October Excellence Series sessions “Social Media for Beginners” was discussed.  Two new presenters, Nate Hoekstra and Leah Zuber from News and Information Services presented the workshop.  Their evaluations reflected how much participants enjoyed this overview of social media and felt comfortable enough to begin using new social media opportunities.  They also stated they would like to follow up this class with a more advanced Social Media session.

The next review was “Developing Emotional Intelligence”.  This session was presented by Deborah Disandro. Her workshop earned very high reviews by both the participants and the moderator.  The third review was in regards to the Workshop, “Clear and Effective Written Style”.  This workshop is part of a new initiative by the Writing Department to bring more opportunities for staff and faculty professional development.  The upcoming session, “Lifestyle Productivity” has been cancelled for December 4th and it will be re-scheduled at a later date.
