Honors Band Information for Accepted Students
Congratulations on being accepted into the Grand Valley State University 2013 High School Honors Band! We are thrilled that you are able to join us and our Guest Conductor, Dr. Gary Sousa of the University of Tennessee. This letter contains important information about the Honors Band, so please read carefully and contact us if you have any questions. Food and lodging are provided as a part of your fee.
SCHEDULE Complete schedule will be given to students on arrival. (Note: Arrival is now SATURDAY not FRIDAY).
Check in: Saturday, February 16, 7:00-8:30 am, Performing Arts Center Lobby, GVSU Allendale Campus (see included map).
Lodging: Saturday, February 16. Sleep Inn Allendale (4869 Becker Drive, Allendale Charter Township, MI 49401, 616-892-8000). GVSU will provide school bus transportation to/from hotel. Students will be sleeping four to a gender specific room, supervised around the clock by 5 college students and 2 faculty members.
Concert: Sunday, February 17, 2 PM NOTE CHANGE, Louis Armstrong Theatre, Performing Arts Center, GVSU Allendale Campus (see included map).
Pick up: Sunday, February 17 after the concert.
MEDICAL FORM & PAYMENT
In order to register for the 2013 GVSU HSHB, you must return the included medical/information/permission slip and payment of $40 by February 1 or your slot might be given to another student. Checks must be made payable to GVSU.
PHOTOS & RECORDINGS
Information about recordings of the concert, along with a group photograph will be available to the students during the festival. There will be no charge for either photographs or recordings.
