Enterprise CarShare Membership Program

Car sharing allows students, faculty, and staff to rent a vehicle by the hour providing a transportation option for those who do not have a vehicle on campus.

GVSU partners with Enterprise CarShare, who owns and operates the program. Enterprise CarShare is owned by Enterprise Holdings, the parent company of Enterprise Rent-a-Car and National Car Rental.

Enterprise CarShare is a Membership-Based Program

  • Vehicles are reserved online, accessed using a membership card and returned to the same location where the car was picked up.
  • Members must be age 18 or older, have a driver’s license and a credit card in member’s name.
  • Members age 18-20 must also provide proof that they are insured on an insurance policy that has full coverage (does not need to have a car rental rider), and their parent/guardian must complete an online acknowledgement form.
  • Enterprise CarShare vehicles will be on campus starting October 15, 2012.
  • Updates and additional detail will be posted on the GVSU Transportation Services web page
  • Enterprise CarShare representatives will be on campus regularly throughout the fall and winter semester for marketing and education.

Vehicles: one Ford Focus and one Ford Fusion 


Membership / Application Fees:

  • Students: Member Fee $35 which student gets back as credit toward future rental
  • Faculty/Staff: Application Fee $10  (NOT credited toward rental)

Pricing includes 200 miles per car share period; additional mileage charged at $.35/mile.
Eight hour maximum hourly rate, then daily rate applies.
Daily rate covers a 24 hour period.
Weekday is defined as Monday starting at 8:00am through Friday ending at 6:00pm.
 

Fuel is Included in Rental Rates

  • Fuel credit card included in each vehicle


Collision Insurance and Minimum Liability Insurance are Included in Rental Rates

  • Age 18-20 AND a GVSU Student:
    • Collision insurance with $500 deductible
    • Secondary Liability protection that meets Michigan statutory minimum
  • Age 21 and Up:
    • Collision insurance with $500 deductible
    • Primary Liability protection that meets Michigan statutory minimum
