L. William Seidman
L. William Seidman, founding chair of Grand Valley's Board of Trustees, died May 13, 2009 at the age of 88. Seidman was one of the founders of Grand Valley State University, helping galvanize local support for the establishment of a public four-year university in West Michigan.

Winning Pure Michigan Ice Cream flavor picked from 7,000 entries

HUDSONVILLE, MI -- Pure Michigan Double Berry Pie beat more than 7,000 entries to be named the state’s next great ice cream flavor.
This flavor made up of vanilla ice cream and swirls of blueberries and strawberries surrounded by real pie crust pieces was suggested by Linda Ann Stewart. The Taylor resident won the contest sponsored by Hudsonville Ice Cream and the state’s marketing arm.
