Undergraduate Marketing Major

Marketing is a fascinating field to study, no matter where your career takes you. It involves the application of psychology, sociology, and anthropology to the question of determining what people will buy. It is the perfect major for someone who wants to go into business because they consider themselves to be a "people person." If you like interacting with people, and you are intrigued by human behavior, you will love marketing.

A major in marketing provides you with the appropriate knowledge and skills to understand the function of marketing in the firm and in society. This 18-credit hour major is very application oriented and stresses interaction with many leading regional business organizations.

Career Opportunities
The essence of marketing is finding out what potential customers want and developing ways of giving it to them. Nearly half our economy is involved in this process. Marketing jobs are therefore more readily available than jobs in many other career fields.

Increasingly, marketing jobs are internationally oriented. They often involve the study of people in other cultures. Marketers must therefore be open-minded and willing to cater to customers from a wide variety of backgrounds.
