Collegiate Competition
Teaching Students about Entrepreneurship

CEI is committed to educating students about entrepreneurship as a career, and empowering students to take the first step to market through key competitive events. CEI is responsible for several events held annually, such as the Idea Pitch Competition and Regional Idea Pitch Competition, in which student finalists present their individual 90-second idea pitch to win cash prizes. We also host the Business Plan Competition and collaborate with WMCUG to host the Regional Business Plan Competition, which seek to provide participating undergraduate students with forums to improve their business plan and to develop skills in pitching their ventures to investors. Winners of each of these competitions take home cash prizes ranging from $400 to $5,000 to help them get started building their business.

GVSU Business Plan Competition
The Business Plan Competition serves to stimulate and nourish the entrepreneurial spirit at the undergraduate level. In particular, it seeks to encourage entrepreneurially oriented undergraduate students, from any major, to take key steps toward developing and growing new ventures based on their ideas. The Competition also provides a forum in which participating undergraduate students develop critical skills in pitching their ventures to investors, which increases the probability of successfully launching their ventures. Finally, each year, the Business Plan Competition will provide the best of these ventures with startup capital to assist the winning students in launching their business venture. >> GVSU Business Plan Competition
