November 17, 2012
Time:
8:30 a.m.
- 3:30 p.m.
Location:
Van Andel Research Institute
SAVE THE DATE: Saturday, November 17
WHAT: The West Michigan Undergraduate Science Research Conference will once again be sponsored by GVSU, The Van Andel Institute, Hope, Calvin and Aquinas Colleges.
WHY: This is the largest undergraduate science research conference in West Michigan. It provides a venue for our students to present some of their work at a professional but supportive venue. Students and faculty also have the opportunity to learn about the research being conducted by other faculty and students in the region. Note that this could be a great opportunity for students not yet ready to present at a conference to see how one operates.
WHERE: The event will take place at the Van Andel Research Institute in Grand Rapids
WHEN: Saturday, November 17, 8:30am - 3:30 pm
TARGET AUDIENCE: This conference is for undergraduate students conducting or interested in ANY field of science research, faculty members and administrators.
REGISTRATION: Registration is FREE but required. Online registration will be available soon at:
http://www.vai.org/News/Events/2012/11_17_Undergraduate-Conference.aspx
MEALS: Lunch and coffee breaks are covered by the registration(!)
FORMAT: As in previous years, the conference will have a keynote talk, four faculty presentations and feature TWO POSTER SESSIONS DEVOTED TO UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH.
KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Dr. Elizabeth Simmons, director of the Lyman Briggs honors college at MSU and a theoretical physicist
