David Leestma Receives 2014 Boren Scholarship

Student David Leestma is the recipient of a 2014 National Security Education Program (NSEP) Boren Scholarship to learn Arabic in Jordan during the 2014-15 academic year.  He is of on 175 applicants from a pool of 868 applications nationwide awarded this prestigious scholarship. Leestma is an International Relations major with minors in Arabic and Middle East Studies.

GVSU students interested in the Boren Awards are encouraged to contact Amanda Cuevas, director of the Frederik Meijer Office of Fellowships, 230 Mary Idema Pew Library, 616.331.2699 to discuss the award application process.  The application for the 2015-2016 academic year will open in mid-August 2014 and the campus deadline will be in early December 2014.
