Grand Valley alumnus Tyler Howe, ’12, is one of nine finalists in “Take
the Stage,” the Myspace online singing competition produced by YOBI.tv.
Viewer votes will choose who will win, receive $20,000 and get a
contract with music manager Johnny Wright, who manages Justin Timberlake
and the Jonas Brothers, among many other successful artists.
Howe, from Grand Rapids, decided to post a video online, along with
thousands of other hopefuls, and was voted into the top 60. He
eventually made it all the way to the top nine finalists featured in 18
weekly online episodes, which are filmed in Detroit.
Recognizing Independence Day, the current episode posted today features
each of the finalists performing the national anthem. Viewers can vote
once per day, and every music single by Howe purchased on iTunes counts
as 25 votes. Cast your vote for Howe at www.myspace.com/TakeTheStage/Tyler.
