Prof. Miller-Adams named Mawby Fellow

Date: August 26, 2013

As the 2013-14 Mawby Fellow, Dr. Michelle Miller-Adams (Associate Professor, Political Science) will be comparing the philanthropic cultures of Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo to answer the following questions:

1) Why have two similar communities produced such different models of philanthropic behavior? 2) What are the implications of these different models for philanthropy and volunteerism in the broader communities?

The research project is being undertaken in collaboration with Professor Michael Moody (Frey Foundation Chair for Family Foundations and Philanthropy at the Johnson Center for Philanthropy), Grace Denny (Graduate Research Assistant at the Johnson Center), and two Undergraduate Mawby Fellows.
