Sufen Lai, associate professor of English, accepted a visiting scholar fellowship at Tel Aviv University in conjunction with her sabbatical research, “Chinese Literati and the Bible: 19th Century to the Present.”
Kathryn Remlinger, professor of English, gave a presentation, “Say Ya to Da Finns, Eh! Linguistically Creating Finnishness,” at FinnFest USA in Hancock.
Movement science faculty members Rick Albrecht and Dana Munk gave a presentation with GRPS officials, “Taking it to the Streets,” at the National Coaching Conference in Colorado Spring, Colorado.
Robert Byrens, affiliate professor of music, wrote a book, “The Voice of an Angel: Poems and Letters for Spiritual Renewal from a Fractured Life,” published by AuthorHouse.
James R. Metzler, adjunct professor of music, performed an organ recital at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, England.
Charles Pazderink, associate professor of Classics, gave a presentation, “Epistolary Lamentation: Nicias’ Letter to the Athenians and Belisarius’ Letter to Justinian,” at Harvard University’s Center for Hellenic Studies and The Society for the Promotion of Education and Learning Athens, Greece.
Movement science faculty members Mary Schutten and Heather Peddie co-wrote an article, “Physical Fitness, Academic Achievement, and Socioeconomic Status in School-Aged Youth,” in the Journal of School Health.
