Chemists from Grand Valley and other area schools will perform a variety of chemistry demonstrations in celebration of National Chemistry Week. Chemists from Grand Valley, Hope, Calvin, Aquinas and Grand Rapids Community College will host the free show on Saturday, October 13, from noon-4 p.m. at The Lakes Mall on Harvey Street in Muskegon.
This year’s theme is “Nanotechnology: The Smallest Big Idea in Science.” The day will also feature hands-on activities and an illustrated poem contest for students K-12. Winners in each age group will receive a $25 gift card.
National Chemistry Week runs from October 21-27. The event is sponsored by the Western Michigan section of the American Chemical Society.
