2. Student Veterans Writing Workshop
With support from FTLC and Student Services, a Student Veterans Writing Workshop is being formed this semester. Faculty are encouraged to announce this information in their classes and advisees (a flyer will follow soon).
Joel Wendland (Liberal Studies Department) and Patrick Johnson (GVSU Writing Center) will lead sessions of the workshop designed to assist student veterans with class assignments, professional writing, cover letters, personal statements and more.
Workshop sessions will be scheduled for mid-November through early December. Please let us know days (or evenings) and times that best fit your schedule and/or will be most helpful for completing assignments or other writing projects.
Student veterans interested joining the workshop should be in touch with Joel Wendland (wendlajo@gvsu.edu or 331-8192).

Posted on October 26, 2011
The Division of Inclusion and Equity is seeking volunteers to serve on a subcommittee that will delve into data from the myGVSU Survey.
Jeanne Arnold, vice president for Inclusion and Equity, said the “Next Steps” committee would study the quantitative and qualitative data from the climate survey and help develop an action plan. Students, faculty and staff members who are interested in serving on the subcommittee to the Inclusion and Equity Advisory Board should submit their contact information to Jessie Holland at hollajes@gvsu.edu by October 28.
The committee will likely begin meeting in November.
