2. PIC to host session about faculty Fulbrights, March 16

The Padnos International Center will sponsor an information session for faculty members interested in applying to be a Fulbright scholar.

Andy Reiss, from the Fulbright Office of the Council for the International Exchange of Scholars, will be available to answer questions on Friday, March 16, beginning at 3 p.m. in the DeVos Center, University Club Room.

Fulbright awards are typically for U.S. citizens only. Register for the session at www.gvsu.edu/seminar (under FTLC programs).

No matter the state of the economy, students struggle to acquire professional wardrobes without acquiring more debt. Join us in efforts to provide professional attire to students entering the workforce by donating your gently used men’s and women’s suits and separates. Clothing accepted through the month of March. See attachment for locations.

Career Connections, Liberal Arts Alumni Panel (attachment)

Please encourage your students to Learn about career options available for liberal arts majors from alumni who have “been there, done that.” Moderator: Tim Bulson, ‘09—President of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Alumni Chapter. See attachment for details.

CLAS Sabbatical Forum – March 29^th

Dear CLAS Unit Heads,

Please encourage sabbatical eligible faculty members in your department to attend the Sabbatical Forum: The winter Sabbatical Forum is being hosted by the Faculty Development Committee on Thursday, March 29, from 3:30-5:00 pm in 308 Padnos Hall. This bi-annual event allows individuals to meet with members of the FDC committee to answer any questions they may have.

Although sabbatical guidelines will be reviewed, the forum will primarily focus on concept building for research. Encourage anyone applying to attend and bring any ideas they may have for their sabbatical. Committee members are also available to conduct pre-reads.
