For Faculty
For the first time, GVSU will be hosting a Graduate Fair to introduce undergraduate students to all of the graduate program options available at Grand Valley State University. Unlike the fall Grad Fair, all 29 of our graduate programs will have a faculty representative on hand to provide information and answer questions.
We are requesting your help in promoting this announcement by sharing the information with your students and departmental staff.
Graduate Program Information Fair

Description:
The Graduate Fair is an opportunity for you to meet graduate program directors and faculty advisors from all of Grand Valley State University's graduate programs in one location. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about program options, employment outlook, admissions criteria, program requirements, cost, assistantships, and more!
A Graduate Admissions representative will also be available to answer questions about applying to any program or enrolling as a Graduate Non-degree Student.
Don't miss this great opportunity to explore or apply, as you still have time to enroll in many of GVSU's graduate programs. Hope to see you there!

For Unit Heads
I wanted to alert you to something to add to your “take into consideration when scheduling” folder. ED 431, Student Teaching, has begun to include content faculty in its operations. CLAS faculty develop and provide 3 seminars and make 3 supervisory visits during the student teaching semester. It is being piloted this year with MTH, PE, GER, and HST. Next year, English and Social Studies will join the process with all units with teachable majors involved by year 2013-14.
The ED 431 seminars are taught on Tuesdays from 4-5:50 pm in the Eberhard Center. CLAS content faculty will be expected to hold class in EC, typically the seminar is the first Tuesday of the 2nd through 4th months of the semester. Please make a note to review faculty schedules who will teach the seminar in ED 431 so that there is time to travel to EC for the seminars.
CLAS and COE are holding ED 431 meetings at the start and end of each academic year to try to adjust this new program in meaningful ways.
