1. MI Academy of Arts and Sciences (attachment) – message from Gary Stark

Please inform your faculty—and interested students—of the 2010 annual meeting of the Michigan Academy of Science, Arts, and Letters, which will be held at Calvin College, March 26. A call for papers is attached. Presentations can be in any of the 35 academic areas listed. (Last year a number of GVSU faculty and students delivered papers in Botany & Plant Ecology, Education, Environmental Science & Ecology, French & Italian, Geological Sciences, German Languages & Literatures, and Languages & Literatures.) Abstracts of papers delivered at the conference are published in the Academy’s journal, Michigan Academician. Membership in the Academy is $65 per year for faculty from affiliated institutions (GVSU is an affiliated institution); registration for the meeting is $60.

2. Summer Faculty Exchange Program Opportunity (attachment) – message from Gary Stark

CLAS faculty who are interested in teaching in the summer faculty exchange program with the University of Education in Schwäbisch-Gmünd, Germany, should complete the attached application and submit it to the CLAS Dean's office (B-4-232 MAK)  by November 1.
