1) Faculty Governance Nominations & Election

The CLAS Faculty Council is accepting nominations for CLAS and University Committees (from Tuesday, March 1 through Wednesday, March 16th), and the election itself will start on Wednesday, March 23rd and run until Wednesday, March 30th. The nominations and the elections are run from the on-line ballot site which can be found at www.gvsu.edu/ballot/.  Description of all committees, their workload, and meeting times can be found at: http://gvsu.edu/clas/clas-committees-305.htm .  Current committee membership can be accessed at: http://gvsu.edu/clas/faculty-governance-elections-147.htm

 

Let your voice be heard.  Additional nominees for committees in the areas of curriculum and assessment are particularly encouraged.

  

2) Faculty can Access Grant Announcements on GRC Website--Monica Johnstone

CLAS saw a 40% increase in grant seeking activity when we began performing triage on the large external grant announcement lists and sending tailored grant announcements to departments.  The strong positive feedback for this style of information provision has been very encouraging.  Sometimes faculty express the desire to see such information on a website also.  This already exists.  Please see http://www.gvsu.edu/grants/external-5.htm
