Prerequisites are now in place. Have you covered this with all your faculty? Do they know who has override authority for your unit?

This is the last colloquium for the Winter 2008 semester. Please join us on March 20, 2:30-5:00 in 308 Padnos as fellow colleagues share their research findings. See website.

5) Pew FTLC changes deadlines for nominations for teaching awards – Matt Boelkins
This past academic year, the Provost's office and Pew FTLC changed the deadlines for nominations for teaching awards. All such awards now have a deadline of college nominations to the FTLC by October 15. Because these nominations are first reviewed by the CLAS Teaching Excellence Award Committee, this makes the internal deadline September 15 for nominations in CLAS. Obviously this gives units a very limited amount of time to prepare a nomination packet once classes begin in the fall term.
The CLAS Faculty Development Committee encourages units and faculty at this time to consider worthy nominees for the teaching awards described at www.gvsu.edu/ftlc and to make plans now for preparing candidate materials in time for the 9/15/08 deadline. Questions or concerns can be directed to Matt Boelkins, chair of FDC.
