Mission The CLAS Academic Advising Center offers accessible, accurate, timely, and consistent academic advising to all students pursuing majors and/or minors offered by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Vision The academic advising and support provided by the CLAS Academic Advising Center at Grand Valley State University are an integral part of a student-focused, learner-centered, and collaborative relationship between students, faculty advisors, and professional advising staff. We strive to integrate student learning and student goals and abilities with the development of an appropriate academic plan. End of Winter Semester With the Winter 2014 semester soon coming to an end, many students will be leaving campus to head home for the summer. The CLAS Academic Advising Center wants to wish everyone a great summer and to also remind students to review the " taking a course outside of GVSU" guide if planning to take summer courses at another institution this summer. For those students who will be staying at GVSU to take courses this summer, we hope to see you! Our advisors will be on campus and available for appointments. Be sure to call the office to make an appointment (616-331-8585). Summer is an excellent time to soak up some sunshine, but it is also a good time to catch up on things that might have been on your "to do" list. Some ideas: · Complete an internship · Job Shadow · Gain research experience · Study for the GRE or MCAT · Learn about graduate programs · and more! For more ideas or information, please contact either a faculty advisor or an advisor in the CLAS Academic Advising Center. Have a great summer!!
