				<title>Faculty/ Staff Family Climb Day begins</title>

							<p>Beginning Saturday, July 6th and continuing until Fall Semester, we are pleased to be offering Faculty/ Staff Family Climb&nbsp;Day!&nbsp; Each Saturday from 12p-4p the Climbing Center&nbsp;will be&nbsp;offering a significantly discounted rate for&nbsp;GV Faculty &amp; Staff to spend a fun afternoon at the Climbing Center with their family.&nbsp; </p><br />
<p><strong>Discount:<br /><br />
</strong>Faculty &amp; Staff - Day Pass Fee waived.&nbsp; Pay only for needed rental equipment ($3 or less)<br /><br />
Spouse &amp; Dependents - $5 flat rate includes the day pass &amp; any needed rental equipment.</p><br />
<p>No experience necessary.&nbsp; Climbing Center staff will be on hand for basic instruction and&nbsp;to belay if needed (tie knots &amp; handle the ropes).&nbsp; Recommended minimum age: 6 yrs.</p><br />

				<title>Job Opening:  Graduate Supervisor</title>

							<p><strong><font size="3">Position Description</font></strong></p><br />
<p><font size="2">The Climbing Center (CC)/ Outdoor Adventure Center (OAC) Graduate Supervisor (GS) position is an hourly position within Athletic &amp; Recreation Facilities Management that requires a 20-25 hour per week commitment.&nbsp; The work schedule includes an average of three shifts per week that overlap the evening CC open hours and a minimum of one Saturday shift per month.&nbsp; The GS reports directly to the CC/ OAC Manager and is active in nearly all aspects of CC and OAC operation.&nbsp; Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:</font></p><br />
<ul><br />
    <li><font size="2">Monitoring the operation of the CC and OAC on a regular basis</font> </li><br />
    <li><font size="2">Assisting with hiring, training, and supervising student staff</font> </li><br />
    <li><font size="2">Developing and implementing programs and events</font> </li><br />
    <li><font size="2">Coordinating group visits to the CC</font> </li><br />
    <li><font size="2">Conducting OAC rentals and returns</font> </li><br />
    <li><font size="2">Customer Service</font> </li><br />
    <li><font size="2">Other tasks as assigned by Athletic and Recreation Facilities Management</font> </li><br />
</ul><br />
<p><font size="2">This position holds a flexible start date.</font></p><br />
<p><strong><font size="3">Qualifications</font></strong></p><br />
<p><font size="2">Candidates must meet the following criteria in order to be considered for the CC/ OAC GS position.</font></p><br />
<ul><br />
    <li><font size="2">Be enrolled in a Master's degree program at Grand Valley State University</font> </li><br />
    <li><font size="2">Be certified in Adult First Aid and CPR</font> </li><br />
    <li><font size="2">Have previous experience in a recreational setting</font> </li><br />
    <li><font size="2">Have a working knowledge of rock climbing and/ or other outdoor adventure activities (hiking, camping, kayaking, etc...)</font> </li><br />
</ul><br />
