Sustainability Reinvestment Fund. The Reinvestment Fund has been established through the contributions of various departments and auxiliaries including: Finance and Administration, Campus Dining, UBS, Student Senate, and the Sustainable Community Development Initiative.
Faculty and students will have access to grants for sustainable development projects both on campus and in the community. The goal of the fund is to support projects that can be replicated across the university, working in support of GVSU’s goal of becoming a national leader in sustainable practice.
Service Learning Network Financial Resources. The Community Service Learning Center (CSLC) offers grants for faculty to support curricular and co-curricular service learning activities. Grants of up to $1500 each will support faculty initiatives to engage students in and out of the classroom with projects that advance student learning while meeting a demonstrated community need.
Pew FTLC Grants. Pew FTLC offers a number of grants each year to support excellence in faculty teaching and learning at Grand Valley. View their list of grants for up-to-date information about these opportunities.
CLAS Research Cluster Grants. CLAS and CSCE will co-fund grants of up to $5000 annually for projects in each research cluster. Successful applications will request funding for projects focusing on one of the five Research Clusters (Borders, Brain, Health, Urban, and Water) and will involve students, include participation of faculty from 3 or more disciplines (sciences, humanities, and social sciences), demonstrate how collaborative effort will help solve the question/problem under investigation in a way that individual effort is less likely to do so, include plans for dissemination of results internally (e.g. faculty research colloquium, SSD) and externally (e.g. conferences, publications, and use the grant as seed money to help with seeking external grant funding for the project. Special consideration is given to funding requests for projects that include a community engagement componenent.
Association of American Colleges & Universities: Bringing Theory to Practice. Seminar, program development, and demonstration site grants to build capacity for engaged learning, civic engagement, and civic development.
National Service-Learning Clearinghouse: Grants and Fundraising Resources. Resources gathered by the NSLC on the general topic of grants and fundraising.
