Conferences & Events
Throughout the year, the Office for Community Engagement hosts a number of events—ranging in size, scope, and focus—in order to facilitate learning and connection throughout the university and within our community. Additionally, we provide information on upcoming conferences related to the scholarship of engagement. This list is updated regularly as details or new events arise.
Community as Classroom: The Pedagogy and Practicality of Community-Based Teaching and Learning, the specific dates, times, and venue are to be determined.
This faculty teaching circle supports new and engaged scholars in their community-based teaching, learning and research through a community of practice focused on building courses with a service learning/community outreach focus. Four meetings will be scheduled throughout the winter 2014 semester and will be determined based on faculty schedules.

SynergyWorks 2014, March 14, 2014, 8:00 AM — 12:00 PM
In March 2013, The Office for Community Engagement hosted its first SynergyWorks event, in which engaged faculty, staff, and students gathered together for presentations and roundtable discussions about GVSU's current community engagement practices, strategies, and vision for the future. This year's event will be focused on creating connections in the university and community and creating synergy around common goals. More details will be posted as they become available.
The Office for Community Engagement periodically convenes small groups with common interests to explore partnership development opportunities. The list is updated as events are scheduled.
