Early Alert is a system of early warning and follow-up that allows faculty and staff to directly contribute to student success by identifying and assisting students who are having
academic and/or other difficulties.
Identification
The Early Alert Referral is an online process that will allow faculty and staff to directly refer a student who may be experiencing academic or non-academic concerns. Student issues may include poor attendance, low test scores, limited language or writing ability, family issues, financial responsibility, employment obligations, and mental or physical health concerns, as well as, difficulty transitioning from high school to college.
If you receive a message from the Early Alert program
If you are contacted regarding an Early Alert referral, it does not necessarily mean that you are failing. You are encouraged to schedule an appointment with a program advisor from the Early Alert Program. An advisor can assist you in making important decisions that will contribute to your long-term success and academic planning.
Student Success Plan
A student success plan is an individualized plan outlining goals and strategies that will be implemented in order to get you back on track. This plan may include tutoring, study groups,
use of writing consultants, academic advising, or the need for use of counseling services.
