Dr. Nael Barakat is the Mechanical Engineering program chair at GVSU, a registered professional engineer in Ontario, Canada, and a fellow of the ASME. He joined GVSU Engineering in 2005 after three years of university teaching and four years of industrial experience and consulting,including companies like: "Brown and Sharpe" and "Agere Systems." Dr. Barakat holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from McMaster University, Canada. His areas of interest include NEMS, Controls, Robotics, Automation, Systems Integration, Metrology, as well as Engineering Ethics, professionalism, and Education			Dr. Jiao received her B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Nankai University, China and her Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. She joined GVSU in 2004 after spending several years working as an engineer and researcher at Motorola, Bell Labs, and AVC Global Services. Dr. Jiao's teaching and research interests include inorganic/organic solar cell characterization and fabrication, organic light emitting diodes, thin-film transistors, nano-materials, nano-devices, MEMs sensors, fiber optics, and optical communication networks
