Dr. Garrett came to GVSU in 1991 after 12 years in industry. He spent over ten years in R & D, design and manufacturing engineering at General Motors, Allied-Signal and Litton Industries. His recent consulting and research has been in designing products that are easier to manufacture. He received his B.S.M.E. and M.S.M.E. from Purdue University and his Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Michigan.
