Dr. Ashby joined the School of Engineering at Grand Valley State University in 2010. Prior to coming to Grand Valley State, he worked for several years as a consulting engineer with Woolley Engineering Research Corporation in Provo, Utah and Exponent Failure Analysis Associates in Phoenix, Arizona. He received a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Utah State University and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. Dr. Ashby’s areas of interest and expertise include musculoskeletal biomechanics, injury biomechanics, accident reconstruction, dynamics, and solid mechanics.
