Master of Arts in English
Are you a teacher, writer, or editor eager to expand your knowledge of literature and hone your literary critical skills? If so, consider GVSU's Master of Arts in English program, which features courses on British, American, and Anglophone literature, as well as topics in literary criticism. Designed with part-time students in mind, the program allows for flexible scheduling.

The Master of Arts in English at Grand Valley was established in 2003 and has a strong reputation for high quality post-graduate education and excellence. The program offers students and professionals an opportunity to deepen knowledge, sharpen critical skills, and stregthen writing. Our small seminar classes (15 students maximum) are conveniently offered in Allendale and Grand Rapids, and taught by dedicated professors who are active scholars in their fields.
Designed in part to meet the needs of high school English teachers, the M.A. program
is also suitable for working professionals in publishing, journalism, and library science,
or others who simply wish to study intensively a wide range of literatures in English.
