Marnie Parris-Bingle has been with the Educational Support Program (TRiO SSS) since 2008 and continues to dedicate herself to the academic and personal success of her students. Graduating from Central Michigan University with her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, her career has taken her down many paths including: human resources in logistics, healthcare, manufacturing, restaurant ownership and even fundraising in higher education.
Her relationship with GVSU began during her time as a graduate student in the College Student Affairs Leadership (CSAL) program, culminating in her Masters of Education. While at GVSU, Marnie has taught in both the Allied Health Sciences and Career Exploration programs. By combining nearly eight years of experience in human resources and over 12 years of experience in higher education, Marnie strives to help students define their own personal success.“One of my favorite quotes is by Winston Churchill: ‘Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.’ There are a number of obstacles and challenges college will present and building a sense of tenacity and perseverance is so very important.
