2024 Celebrating All Walks of Life Pow Wow

A Traditional Powwow is a gathering and celebration of Native American culture through ceremony, song, dance, feasting, and socializing. Traditional pow wows include dancers, drum groups, vendors, invited Elders, Veterans, and other honored guests to perform and participate in the celebration. NASA has worked in strong collaboration with the Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Division of Inclusion and Equity to plan and coordinate this large-scale event. In addition, NASA has strong support from the local West Michigan Native American community in ensuring that the event is successful and respectful of traditional Native culture.

This Pow Wow will be held in GVSU's Fieldhouse on April 13th from 8:00am - 8:00pm and April 14th from 10:00am - 8:00pm.

The Native American Student Association (NASA) is a Registered Student Organization at Grand Valley State University committed to providing a space for Native American/Indigenous students. We are dedicated to promoting Native American cultural awareness across the Grand Valley campus and surrounding community as well as bringing attention to important Native American social issues. Our organization is open to to all undergrad students, graduate students, and GVSU faculty/staff. The Native American Student Association exists to engage the campus and Greater Grand Rapids community by providing programs that share and educate Native American and other non-Native students at Grand Valley State University. We wish to provide a safe and welcoming atmosphere in which students, faculty, staff, and visitors may convene to discuss traditions, beliefs, and viewpoints and to give Native American students a voice and a presence on the GVSU campus.
