The Comedy of Errors tells the story of two sets of identical twins that were separated shortly after birth during a storm. One set of the separated twins (Syracusans) go in search of their brothers and when they arrive in Ephesus, the unbeknownst home of their twin brothers. The Syracusans encounter the friends and families of their twins (the Ephesians) and a series of wild mishaps based on mistaken identities that lead to wrongful beatings, a near-seduction, arrest, and false accusations of infidelity, theft, madness, and demonic possession! It is one of Shakespeare’s most farcical comedies; the story is full of slapstick, mistaken identity, puns and word play.
