One of the cornerstones of American democracy is the right to vote. Yet many citizens do not exercise this right. Ramos-Montigny will engage students in an interactive discussion about the importance of the Latino votes.  She will explain why voter registration is a critical first step in mobilizing young people to be involved in the political process. In essence, civic life is the common thread of participation in and building of one's community.
