The book is a memoir of Ping's life and family's struggle during China's Cultural Revolution. The film highlights the events laid out in the memoir and goes further to include Ping's relationship with her daughter Lisa, who grew up American and until recently was unaware of her family's past.  Jian Ping and her daughter Lisa Xia will be present and conduct a Q&A following the screening.   The book will be available for purchase following the screening.  This event is LIB100/US201 approved.
