The Clinton Global Citizen Award 2012, Nelson Mandela's Birthday Celebration in South Africa, The Sundance Film Festival, Russel Simmon's Def Poetry Jam, The Apollo Theater, Kennedy Center Washington DC, The Smithsonian Museum, Brooklyn Academy of Music, The NAACP Image Awards, Poetry Africa and President Obama's Evening of Poetry and Music at the White House, on BBC Radio Oxford (alongside former U.S. Poet Laureates Billy Collins and Rita Dove), at the Du Bois Institute Panel (as a guest of Henry Louis Gates), and opened for Dr. Cornel West
