\r\n
Alternative Breaks is a service learning organization on campus (affiliated with GVSU's Community Service Learning Center) that promotes active citizenship. This student run organization coordinates week-long service learning trips throughout the United States and are open to any GVSU student. Participating on an Alternative Breaks is a great way to learn about an issue close to your heart, meet new friends, have a fun & cost effective break, and build your resume!\r\n
\r\n
At our information night you'll meet our site leaders (upperclassmen that lead our trips), learn about our various trips with themes (issues) ranging from hunger & homelessness, wildlife refuge, or youth & education, and application process.\r\n
\r\n
An all inclusive fee of $250 covers all travel, food, and housing during the break. Fundraising opportunities, scholarships, payment plans help make our trips affordable for GVSU students.\r\n
