human rights, gender equity, and environmental purposes then this discussion is for you. Come and listen to community leaders that are utilizing sports as a mechanism for healing and providing tools for disenfranchised populations.\r\n

Details: The discussion will begin with a brief introduction to Sport for Development and Peace (SDP) philosophies and programs. SDP refers to the intentional use of sports, physical activity, and play to attain non-sports objectives. Although SDP often refers to programs that are international in scope, our panelists will be asked to discuss the application of SDP locally.\r\n

Panelist will include representation from the following organizations: GRAND C.I.T.Y. sports, The West Michigan Miracle League,the YMCA, Girls on the Run, Ann Arbor Street Soccer League, and GVSU Volleyball. \r\n
