Back by popular demand! The Johnson Center for Philanthropy is pleased to partner with Conversation Matters, LLC (Connie Bellows, DeDe Esque and Dev Butler) to offer facilitator training to build capacity in leaders from all sectors of the community. Participants will develop essential leadership skills, learn valuable facilitation techniques, and receive valuable feedback from seasoned facilitators. An investment in this course will help organizations, businesses and community groups effectively and systemically solve complex problems.
Utilizing The Delta Strategy Facilitator Training course and toolkit, three experienced facilitator trainers will highlight essential components to help you gain fundamental facilitation skills. As you capture the essence of valuable techniques to move a group through problem solving, you will demonstrate these new skills in interactive exercises.
Topics include the following:
Roles and Values of a Facilitator ,
Five ¿P¿s¿ of Preparation,
Asking Powerful Questions,
Gathering and Generating Ideas,
Evaluating Ideas and Decision Making,
Handling Dysfunctional Behavior,
Closing a Facilitation, and
Large Group Facilitation.
The course begins Wednesday, April 27 and concludes Wednesday June 15. Each session meets on Wednesday mornings from 7:30 ¿ 10 a.m., at the Johnson Center for Philanthropy (201 Front Ave SW, BIK 200, Grand Rapids 49504).
Space is limited and registration is on a first come, first serve basis.
Investment is $700 per participant for 20 hours of training, including continental breakfast, training materials and facilitator tool kit.
Payment is expected in full prior to April 13, 2011. Participants who choose to withdraw prior to April 26, 2011 will be eligible for a 50% refund. No refunds or credits will be available after April 26, 2011.
