The Grand Rapids Chapter of the National Organization for Women will be holding their 4th annual Then & NOW event. This event will feature a reception with wine, hors d'oeuvres and desserts; a silent auction; activist awards; and much more!
This year’s theme is using your political power, and we are honored to welcome Senator Gretchen Whitmer as our keynote speaker. Through a multimedia presentation, we will examine the many ways in which we can build our power as progressive feminists and the consequences of losing that power.
NOW is a nation-wide nonprofit organization with autonomous local chapters committed to raising awareness about reproductive justice, economic justice, violence against women, racial justice, LGBT rights, and Constitutional equality.
• Keynote speaker, State Senator Gretchen Whitmer, famously spoke out against the Abortion Insurance Ban that passed into law this year.
Highlight the roles of women in politics, celebrate the history and present day impact of feminist activism in our community, and provide resources for feminists to build their own political power.
