What is the cost for renting the Cook-DeWitt Center? Is there a discount offered?

How many people does it hold?
236 people, additional chairs available upon request
How long/wide is the aisle?
47 ½ feet long, 5 feet 6 ½ inches wide
How many rows of chairs are there?
12 rows of chairs on 2 sides of aisle – 10 per side (6 seats in front row, west side)
What instruments are available?
Piano and Organ (pianist and/or organist is not provided)
What kind of decorations can be used?
No tape or confetti may be used in any manner in the building.
Decorations may be used as long as they are removed/cleaned up after the event. Event Services does have an aisle runner available upon request.
Where does the bride get ready?
The Green Room
Where does the groom get ready?
The Conference Room
Are podiums/pedestals available?
Yes – 2 podiums, 2 pedestals (for unity candle and/or flowers)
What kind of sound equipment is available?
Microphones(floor, podium, and lavalier), CD/cassette tape player, etc.

How many hours for rehearsal?
Two hours
How many hours for the wedding?
Six hours
Do we have to provide our own officiant?
Yes, the customer is responsible for contacting their own officiant.
Can we bring in snacks for before our wedding?
Food prepared by wedding party may be brought into the Cook-Dewitt Center as long as it is removed when event ends. No catered items are allowed unless the wedding party is using Grand Valley’s catering services. The wedding party is responsible for the removal of everything brought in and cleanup. A charge of $50.00 will be assessed if there is lack of compliance.
Will someone be there from Grand Valley?
Yes, an event coordinator will be available during the rehearsal and the wedding for any questions/help that the wedding party may have or need. This person will also be in charge of any audio/visual equipment being used for the event.
Where is parking available for the Cook DeWitt Center?
There is free parking after 6:30 p.m. on Fridays and all weekend in the metered lot on the south side of the Kirkhof Center and in Lots H & G. You may drop guests off and load/unload decorations and/or flowers at the door of Cook DeWitt, but you may not park there.
If you require a parking option prior to 6:30 PM on Fridays, please coordinate with Event Services by calling 331-2350.
There is no parking allowed on the sidewalk outside of the Cook-DeWitt Center. Tickets will be issued if vehicles are left unattended.
