IPM Co-Op Third Rotation
Kyle
Major: Mechanical Engineering
As a mechanical engineering co-op, I worked with the mechanical engineering department to design conveyor for multiple customers. I have worked with tabletop, mattop, MDR, and pallet conveyor during my time at IPM. Typical project procedure involves receiving the conveyor layout, calculating values to test for any difficulties, create 3D models of the conveyor, compile BOM's for purchasing, and sometimes find vendors to supply parts. Modifying parts and trouble-shooting conveyor once it is built to correct for errors is also part of the experience.

My daily tasks for this rotation varied since there are around 200 test stations that need to be sustained at the GR site. Tasks daily could range from software updates/debugging, to hardware/circuit trouble shooting and debugging. The main tasks I completed were ordering parts for two new stations worth over $100,000 and creating new electrical drawing packages for the new test station. Other than those tasks I made a few larger software updates to improve testing efficiency by adding new libraries.

Small Town, Big Job
Matthew
Major: Sport Management
I supervised and helped run the soccer season in the month of May and Early June. Late June was a lot of preparation and remote work for the summer camps. Now in July, I am on my 3rd week of running the youth summer program as a director. I am still in the process of grant writing to get some more baseball equipment. This was an excellent internship from an administrative perspective because it required hard work on and off the field. A true management experience.
