Description of the Organization

FCA is a worldwide organization that is a sports ministry. Kent County FCA is growing more and has Huddles that invite athletes, coaches, and anyone else to learn about Jesus and sports. They have state directors, regional, area directors and then area representatives. The headquarters is in Kansas City and they have different staff members all the way up to the top. We have camps and events throughout the year as well.

Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed

I did a lot of excel work, planning for events, emailing people. I also went to a lot of the Huddles and built relationships there. I did some recruiting for leaders and trying to expand into different schools as well.

Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience

I gained a lot of professionalism within emailing and asking a lot of questions to staff. I got to go to KC and learn from the people at the top. I built relationships with kids at the High Schools and got to see them grow within their faith.

Favorite Part of the Experience

My favorite part of the experience was our team meetings and getting to do work with a great group of people. I loved seeing kids grow in their faith and am excited to see them grow in their sports throughout summer camps as well. Being able to have my own schedule was great too!

How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals

I am joining staff with FCA after graduation and excited to do this full time. I know that it prepared me well to be relational with people and be confident with asking questions and in myself.
