Description of the Organization
Koops Automation has roughly 400 employees spread across Holland, Saginaw MI, as well as in South Carolina and one building in Mexico. Koops creates custom automated machines and equipment for manufacturers world wide. Koops will see the machine all the way through the design, build, and installation phases for each customer.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
I was asked to program and integrate many different types of equipment such as robots, conveyors, motors, sensors, etc. and program a PLC to allow the machine to function as intended.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I gained lots of experience with electrical prints, programming, integration of new components, and many more.
Favorite Part of the Experience
The independence and trust I was given by being able to work on my own machine, while still receiving help and guidance when I ran into issues I did not know how to solve.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
This experience has given me tools and experience with components that future employers would highly desire for me to have such as programming and problem solving, as well as integration of new components.
