Description of the Organization
Forest Hills Northern High School has a history of being great in sports, especially Tennis, Golf, and Soccer. Growing up wanting to be an Athletic Director, this was a perfect place to learn the atmosphere of working in a high school, and the overall daily routine of an Athletic Director.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
At my time at Forest Hills Northern, I was involved in many activities and projects. I went to every football game to help with management and operations, and learned what it takes to put on a successful event. In the office, I entered in data from past All-State athletes and championship teams into the schools new touchboard. There were hundreds of entries, so that kept me very busy. I got to experience conference meetings, phone calls, and other daily things an Athletic Director does on a normal day.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
Overall, I gained the skills and knowledge I needed to be prepared to become and Athletic Director once I graduate college.
Favorite Part of the Experience
My favorite part of this internship was meeting all the great people at Forest Hills Northern and being able to build relationships with them. They were all very nice and welcoming.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
Before this internship, I wanted to be an Athletic Director, and this internship only made that desire grow. I am excited to make my next step because I now feel prepared and confident that I will do a good job.
