Description of the Organization
Shape Corp is a worldwide employee centered company which produces automotive bumpers and office metal products. They design, build, and program the machines which produce the goods sold.
Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed
I worked on many projects for different engineers this semester ranging in size and complexity. I worked on schematic updates, PLC programming, circuit design, and circuit building. I also received the opportunity to go to Mexico as a new machine was being assembled there and assist an engineer. It has been a great experience being at Shape learning and working with the engineers here.
Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience
I gained experience and skills in PLC programming, circuit design, circuit building, and communication during my time at Shape Corp this semester.
Favorite Part of the Experience
My favorite part of the co-op experience was learning something new each day. I feel more confident now to accomplish tasks assigned to me and I hope that I can continue to learn and grow each semester.
How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals
This experience has allowed for me to feel more confident about my career path I have chosen. I enjoy going there each day to learn and work on projects to accomplish tasks necessary for successful manufacturing of products.
