Description of the Tasks/Projects Completed

While fulfilling my intern hours, I worked on various projects. I mainly worked as an assistant by taking patients back to the adjusting rooms, filling in their current health and setting them up on traction tables. I also did lots of filing and worked on one huge x-ray filing project. A semester wasn't even enough to finish that job, though.

Skills/Knowledge Gained Through The Experience

I learned a lot about the management of the office, which wasn't what I was expecting. Nevertheless, it will eventually be part of my job if I choose to run my own practice. I learned a lot about insurance and the importance of billing correctly. I also learned a lot about the HIPPA rules - which was the reason I started refiling all the X-rays.

Favorite Part of the Experience

I enjoyed living my dream from a different perspective. This internship just made me more excited for what my future has in store for me. I enjoyed working and bonding with the people who worked there as well as getting to know the patients.

How the Experience Influenced Future Career Goals

I already knew Chiropractic was what I wanted. This experience just made me more excited.
