Major: Psychology As an intern I played a supportive role to the case manager. My duties included support in job coaching to help employees successfully handle on-the-job conflicts and other barriers to employment. I assisted in teaching job retention classes that highlighted the importance of, first impressions, attendance, performance, communication, and career advancement.

Summer 2015 Engineering Co-op

Major: Engineering - Product Design and Manufacturing During the summer I was part of a five man cell that operates an automated assembly machine that produces electrical parts for Haworth office furniture. Daily tasks for the cell included being machine responsible to make sure the machine is running smoothly, daily machine maintenance, machine repair, and design for new machine processes or re-design existing processes. I spent a lot of time working on projects to improve the efficiency of the assembly machine that I worked on as well as a quality check station re-design for another machine in my building.

Van Andel Global Trade Center Experience

Major: International Relations A majority of my time as an intern has been spent learning about the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States and applying that knowledge to actual client projects. I helped develop and execute a process for NAFTA Supplier Solicitation and performed NAFTA analysis on client's goods. I also spent time researching various international trade issues and agreements for clients. Other tasks included creating marketing pieces for training events and assisting the Center with day-to-day activities such as telephone calls, database maintenance, and program preparation.
