What is a Nurse Practitioner?
Nurse Practitioners are advanced practice registered nurses who have a Master of Science in Nursing Degree and advanced clinical training in a healthcare specialty area. They diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses and provide counseling regarding health promotion and prevention. Nurse Practitioners practice under the rules and regulations of the Nurse Practice Act of Michigan. They are nationally Board Certified and recognized as expert health care providers.
