Paying the Bill

Paying for college can be difficult.  With the rising costs of getting a higher education you need the most financial assistance possible.  Our office goal is to provide you with the largest amount of federal, state, and institutional financial aid possible.  If you earn a scholarship outside of Grand Valley we will always try to reduce loans first.  Our office strives to help you maintain the highest amount of free (or gift) money possible. For more information, please click on the link to view our presention entitled, "Paying Your Bill".

Grand Valley's Student Account Office handles your bill for any GVSU related expenses.  All first time GVSU students will receive their first bill by mail at their permanent address.  After that all students will receive an email with directions to view their eBill through the My Banner system.  You will receive a bill for each semester.  Fall billing is done in July, Winter billing is done in November and Spring/Summer billing is done in March.

Your bill will outline all Grand Valley related expenses and any financial aid you have accepted.  Any amount owing must be paid by the due date listed on the bill.  It is very important to pay attention to this date.  If you have an unpaid balance on the due date, your classes will be canceled.

You are able to pay your bill on line, in person, or over the phone.  The Student Accounts Payment Options Web site outlines the types of payments accepted.  Please review these carefully when making your payment.

The Student Accounts Office also has a payment plan option called the Deferment Plan.  This plan allows you to pay your balance (each semester) in 4 installments.  There is a fee to pay your bill by installments.  The fee is $40 per semester and it must be paid with your first installment payment.
