Position Background:

Carshare members reserve and pay for their EV car share vehicles by the hour or day. Carshare rates include insurance and EV charging. Members access vehicles from a nearby “hub” in their neighborhood. To join, individuals complete a short online membership application. Once approved, members make reservations and access their carshare vehicle primarily from their smartphone. Surveys show that carshare members use their car for errand running and grocery shopping, getting to a medical appointment or a job interview, visiting relatives or their favorite park, and more. The Michigan EV Carshare Program Coordinator has overall responsibility for Mobility Development Operations (MDO) carshare programs in the following cities: Grand Rapids, Detroit, Ann Arbor and Kalamazoo/Portage. MDO will be launching these carshare programs over the coming weeks and months. This hybrid position is based in Grand Rapids and will coordinate operations, member services and community engagement in all four (4) Michigan markets with a focus on Grand Rapids. The position will report to the Midwest Senior Program Director and will also support our Member Services Director. These carshare programs are funded in part with grants from the U.S. Department of Energy and the City of Grand Rapids.. This position will be supported by our growing national team.

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate. This is a hybrid position that will combine working at home on a laptop and working in the field in all weather conditions. Field work can include working in and around fleet vehicles in parking lots and garages.
